The Lima-Callao area has a population of 9 million andan economy worth US$66 billion in 2014. The preliminary results of our research indicate that the total energy bill for the city was US$4.7 billion and that the bill for waste and water was US$50 billion - meaning that 8% of everything earned in the local economy was spent on energy, water and waste.
CLCF Programme Director leads UK delegation to Seoul

Dr. Jonathan Radcliffe, Programme Director for Energy Storage at the Centre for Low Carbon Futures, recently led a UK delegation to Seoul for an interaction meeting entitled “Addressing Energy Storage Technology and Deployment Challenges” which took place from 21 – 23 May. He presented a talk on UK energy system scenarios and technology innovation programmes at the event which was attended by representatives from academia, the energy industry and the British Embassy.

Participants met with professionals from the research and business community to establish links with the aim of leading possible future collaborative efforts between the United Kingdom and Korea. Both countries are recognising that opportunities exist in new energy storage technologies not only for the energy system but also for companies that develop devices.
Dr. Radcliffe is based at the University of Birmingham and works with CLCF colleagues in Hull, Leeds, Sheffield and York.
