Event: Climate Smart Cities Lima Report Launch

3rd June 2014, 9:00am to 5:00pm

The Centre for Low Carbon Futures (CLCF) was invited by the British Embassy of Peru and contracted by the UK Foreign and Commonwealth Office to deliver a project on the economics of a low carbon city for Lima-Callao, following an event chaired by CLCF at the Rio+20 United Nations Conference on Sustainable Development.

The project was delivered by the University of Leeds in collaboration with local partner universities (Pontifica Universidad Catolica Peru and Universidad Nacional Agraria La Molina) and was funded by UK FCO, Inter-American Development Bank and the Peruvian Ministry of Environment.

This study for Lima-Callao in Peru is the second of our international Climate Smart Cities studies, following completion of the Kolkata study in November 2013, and follows on from four completed studies in the UK for Birmingham, Leeds City Region, Humber and Sheffield. Report launches for further FCO funded projects in Malaysia and Indonesia will follow in 2014.

The report will be launched at the Lima Chamber of Commerce in Peru on June 3rd, by invitation only
