Event: Navigating the Valley of Death: Measurement to Support Low Carbon Technology Commercialisation

3rd September 2013, 9:30am to 4:30pm

The British Academy
10-11 Carlton House Terrace
London SW1Y 5AH

A multitude of global problems including climate change, pollution and finite resources require new innovative technologies. Investment in innovative technologies is at the forefront of national and international policy. However, due to the current investment climate and competition from established technologies, innovative technologies face significant barriers to commercialisation.

NPL is positioned in a unique area, between research and development and commercialisation of technologies. Sitting in the centre of the Technology Readiness Levels (TRLs), NPL provides measurement services that have an important role in the development of new technologies.

The NPL Centre for Carbon Measurement is hosting this meeting in partnership with the Energy Technologies Institute to provide an opportunity to discuss and debate the role of measurement in the acceleration of green technologies through the different stages of the TRL process.
