The Centre for Low Carbon Futures has been invited to participate in Ecobuild, the world’s largest event for sustainable design, construction and the built environment. Organised by UK Trade and Investment, the inaugural exhibition will take place in Southeast Asia together with GreenBuild Asia and will be Southeast Asia’s biggest green build event. Last year over 11,000 trade buyers and 450 companies from over 32 countries participated. It is expected that around 20 UK companies including architects, Energy Service Companies, technology companies and universities will attend.

The global green building materials market is projected to reach US$406 billion by 2015, with Asia-Pacific topped to be the fastest growing market in the coming year. Is it predicted that by 2020, the Association of Southeast Asia Nations is expected to be one of the largest economies in the world and the third largest in Asia with an estimated economy of around US$2 trillion.

CLCF will be engaging with governments and business partners in the region to present  knowledge and expertise to key decision-makers who are bolstering spending on infrastructure and have prioritised investment in sustainable development, introducing a number of green incentives to lower carbon emissions. It will also be an opportunity to learn more about the ASEAN region.
